-- The wedding game --

Last weekend, for Valentine I watched 'The wedding game', a Singaporean movie by Jack Neo. I had an interest to catch this movie as Singapore movies had always kept me interested with the antics and the colourful language of various Chinese dialects.

On the other hand, it was the curiousity of watching the collabration of Fann Wong and Christopher Lee as I had watched them separately on different movies/ tv shows.

Basically the movie starts with Jack Fong (Chris Lee) proposing to his girlfriend Vikki Tse (Fann Wong) in public. The only catch, behind the cameras and gossip magazines these two can't stand the sight of each other. The comedy unfolds as their secret grips on the edge of being exposed, right to the extend that their managers had to execute plan B.

Accompanied by her gay manager and his lusty horny manager, this movie was packed with little silly antics and little sex tease from time to time. I couldn't help it but to think that they were poking a little fun from Edison Chen's sex scandal, especially in the beginning.

Although the ending was sort of cliche but the unfolding of the whole story was quite climatic to the end. There's also a short appearance from Malaysia's Senario Saiful Apek who played Vikki's neighbour back at home.

Kissing in front of the camera and killing each other behind it was such a comical act.

On the other note, Fann and Chris look pretty good together :)

My rating :- 7/10 would watch again but the development of the story was too rushed

Adorable koala

Due to the fire that destroyed Australia, this picture actually made me melt .. way deep down inside .


The koala has burnt paws. It was found wandering near the burnt landscape. This fireman found her walking around and when she saw him, she just sat down and give the 'I'm very tired of this' look.

He fed her water and as you can see in the picture, she look so grateful. If I was him, I would pick her up like a baby and never let her go. Imagine picking her up and she held on to you gratefully. AWWWWW ..

10 years and counting ..

Dear mang, XD

Happy 10th year anniversary. Can you believe it's been 10 years since I first saw you and our eyes met across the room as we walked towards each other and we known each other and became friends? To be honest, I had no idea we would have such a long term friendship. I remember how we used to fight with the boys sitting behind us, how you threaten to 'ask that guy to have sex with me' when I disturb you . You knew I just got my period back then!

I'm sorry for being all meanie and hard hearted about my NSYNC cassette (oh my, we used to have cassette back then) but it was my precious item back then. After that huge (actually, thinking about it now, it's quite tiny) fight and we separated in Standard 6, I thought that was the end. I didn't know you would call me after our UPSR result and made things up and I thought we won't see each other again.

I had no idea you were coming to Sri Aman XD and I admit, I was a little bitch in Form 1, ignoring and walking away from you but I think I grew up in Form 2 when we were placed in the same class. When you approach me once again, I thought it would be nice for us to try to settle things in peace again.

We grew close again within two years in Form 2 and 3. Remember those good old days when we sit by the side of the window and those world cup days in form 3? Good memories. When form 4 and 5 approached, we grew apart as you took art course while I took science stream minus the biology.

I remembered how miserable we were when we were selected for National Service. Back then, I felt like kicking the crotch of whoever shit who sent me the congrats sms for being selected. I went and came back with a total 180 degress change. I remember meeting you in school for our SPM result and I told you that you will love NS very much. I was right, wasn't I? =P

When I went in MMU, I had no idea at all that you were right there in the same course. We didn't talk about it, there were millions (well, I doubt there are millons) other uni / college in Malaysia but we ended up there together again.

We pulled the gap close again and spend time talking/complaining/bitching/laughing at everything. We talked about our dirty little secrets and anything under the roof. Of course, there were times when we fight or get annoyed with each other but even the desert would have rain pouring down once in a while, it's only normal for a friendship to have holes and bumpy roads.

It helps more that we are living merely 5 minutes from each other. It's extraordinary though we been friends for so long, we only camwhore together ONCE and I stepped into your house only last year and we have our first movie only last weekend XD.

So here's to another 50 years *clink imaginary champagne glass* by then we would be 72. Vow that our future jobs and life would not interfere with our friendship. We'll see who gets married first, gets a kid first, who gets the first wrinkle and whose hair would turn white. I bet yours will!

My one week of Chinese New Year

I know I have been missing for a week plus now so I will make it up with a long long long post. You will get so sien at the end of the post.

The eve of the eve of the eve

Travelled to Penang early evening and arrived just in time for dinner. Our car usually is stacked to the brim and the back seats has no place for legs even. It was like a breath of fresh air when you are back in Penang, everyone speaks hokkien there. No Canto dialect and I can speak as freely as I like , just at home.

After dinner at a hawker stall, I was starving .. pms ma .. lunch was at 1 pm and no more food consumption during the 3 hours car ride, I got some kuih ( see la, eat some more ) and head off to grandma's house for a visit.



See, my grandma bought my mom an angku shaper thingy .. so now we can have angku kuih anytime!

Went back to first uncle's house to stay because grandma's place has too many mozzies. Eve is not coming back this year :(

The eve of the eve

The new Jusco in Seberang Prai is open so there were a bit of window shopping. On my wishlist, I have nothing urgent to buy. I have new heels, new shoes, new clothes so no wishlist liao.

This year I had my first prosperity burger! Yeah le, I so outdate la this year only first time eat that burger right?

A bit too pepperish la but it's ok. Disappointed but bah ~~ just a burger ..

Third uncle arrived and after the window shopping, I found out something that I want. I am going to save or withdraw money from my ATM or wait for the price to drop, I want Jay's EP! Two albums of MVs!! *gasp* I want!!

We had a late dinner and had some really good food, at least I did lol ..

The eve

Was such a lazy sloppy day. Everything was slow moving the whole day. Guess what I did on the eve? I pet society lol. Trading and etc. Dinner was superb and then it was time to gamble. I gamble small amount only with the little cousins. Not good to encourage small kids bad habits.

It felt nice to be in Penang on CNY eve. When the cousins have no strings attached and no nonsense technology holding us back, we depend on each other for entertaiment.

First day of CNY

Getting cleaned up and all dressed up for the annual morning gongkyo in kaikan. I put on my new white blouse and my new skirt with my new heels to head off to kaikan.

After our morning gongkyo, we were treated with several spectacular performances as a treat.


The lion dance performed by the martial art group. The lion seems a little young-ish as it did not perform any high flying performance and the flickering eye color changing thing is amusing.

Then there were little cai shen on stage , all consisting of little kids standing on stage and singing .. basically a look cute stage presence

An auntie came onstage and started karaoking ,trying to get the crowd to sing along with her but to no avail .

After the morning has passed, we visited second uncle's new home.. it was a pretty little place and guess who I saw ..

Patchy! The doggie I gave away to my cuzzin years ago .. he is still alive (yes la, i'm crazy) and clean .. and he got new friend , a kitty cat ! I miss Patchy!!

2nd day of CNY

The second day is collecting ang pow day at mom's home. I had a simple lunch at grandpa's place and sneaked home a can of wong lo kat. My wish came true too ! I had bak gua .. but I prefer the normal one rather than the spicy one.

Bak gua is actually not good but this is just once a year!

At night, we head off to grandma's house for dinner .. this is where I spent my younger days of CNY .. the whole kampung feel ..

The old yard where we used to run and play .. now is a jungle ..

Then we head off to auntie's house where I saw the bear we gave Kat. I was prepared to be cai shen and give them some Pet Society lovin but their modem was fried. We clung to each other and sob our eyes out.. yeah ..

First uncle and family are not home so we are only left with two families spending the night in the regular way, Pet societying and watching tv ..

3rd day of CNY

Tonight spending the night at grandma's place, sleeping with the mozzies .. we spend the whole day lepaking in grandma's house and the tv is rather annoying. It's only the 3rd day and they are returning the boring dumb shows.

Third uncle went back to first uncle's house and we decided to keep grandma company .. we made a little camp of mozzie net in the middle of the hall.

I like cause it's pink and it looks like a princess chamber ..


Oh, our best friend during the stay. Fried mozzies , anyone?

4th day of CNY

Today was our last full day in Penang. The brother has to rush home for assignment and such, which kinda makes me sad and pissed off. The morning was cold and refreshing, we watched a little National Geographic and then some drama came up resulting in everyone napping in the evening.

I was fairly disappointed because I didn't want my last day to be wasted. The day before, I turned down mengkuang dam walk and today I turned down going to Penang with Kat. As I said, drama.

Late evening, went over to grandpa's house for an hour or so . Tons of mozzies there and luckily grandpa also have the best racket in the world.

5th day of CNY

Third uncle and family are going to Penang Hill today. Fairly upset as I could not stay. Arrived home about noon .. and bought myself a Slurpee to cheer myself up ..

Spend the whole day getting used to own home again. Tomorrow should be fun. I sure hope so.

6th of CNY

Tonight we are having a little BBQ dinner! *cheers* and cousin Eve is coming ! Best of all, both of them are sleeping over. We never had anyone sleep over before!

Third uncle came home !




Our fire were up and burning .. we had chicken with sausages and nuggets ..

then we had fritters, fried rice and bihun ..

plus some longan lychee nata de coco drink ..

we retreated into the house to play word challenge and eventually the party died down at 10 pm

it was in the middle of the night when we ushered the girls to bed as the brother, uncle and baby cousin stayed up for the Man U match


The sister and Eileen's bed space... on the nice floor, cosy together ..

7th day of CNY

We woke up at 12 pm and had brunch before retreating back to the room for a movie marathon. Prom night got us screaming and covering our eyes and then we switch to a more subtle movie, What happens in Vegas.

Now my cousins have gone back home. Tomorrow's Monday. Oh dang, the whole work/busy thing starts again

A 'niu' year

I'm sorry I been abanding flying tears. I'm sorry I abandoned WLJC .. gah, suppose to change layout by Jay's bday. I'm sorry I abandoned pinktulipzz, chapter 22 isn't officially out yet.

I have been mentally stressed lately. It's getting better right now as I have found my place for my internship job. Whew *wipes imaginary sweat off forehead*

At the same time , I am excited for Chinese New Year, I dunno why! Perhaps because it's the best excuse for shopping :D . My parents never say no to CNY shopping. Maybe it's because I get to change environment and this is the only time of the year when my parents won't frown upon junkies at home. Wee ..



The year of the ox. I heard there are more ox meat being sold. *zha dou*

I thought this is the year of the ox, it should be the animal to rule 2009. Bah. As long as I don't eat ox. Or frog. Nah, I don't even eat much meat.

Oh, I like lion dance but not close though. Upclose they are kinda scary but far away, they are so so adorable *squeeze* .I like how their eyes flicker and how they sit on the floor and how their tails wag and how they opened their big big mouth .. ahh !

Of course I know got people underneath la but then I just forget about it the moment I see the lion jumping up and down high beams. Makes me tear up when I see how much effort they put into the cute thing. I'm strange right? Or maybe cause I'm a Leo ..


I like how the whole CNY festival environment. I love the dong dong chiang songs because I grew up with them. I like the drums, the noise , the crackers sound but I don't like the guy with the big head mask holding that broken straw fan. Eik!!

I come from a non drinking, non gambling family, the older generation that is. So I started the gamble generation with the younger ones. Blackjack!

We will gamble our way through eve till Chap Goh Meh!


Mandarin oranges are so sweet, the smaller cuter and sweeter .. why other oranges so hard to peel ah?

Ang pow , red packets .. a tradition I must really treasure now. For those who had the idea that these are just for kids, you're wrong. Ang pow is for single people. Like me !!

Need to collect few of this because you never know when you might get married, then instead of getting money, have to give T.T and I got so many younger cousins. *pokai*
